Prepare Asset - 4.0.0.0

An asset in the MAM archive cannot be viewed outside of MAM. When you need to access the files with 3rd part applications (such as NLE softwares) you need to use Prepare option.

Prepare will create a local copy of the source file of 'prepared asset' in a Temp folder (please see Prepare Asset Options - 3.7.1.0)

You will notice 'READY' sign on asset icon for the assets that are ready to be used by 3rd party applications. When you double click the asset icon, the asset will be opened with programs that are defined in Windows to open.

NOTE When the user make any changes to the file on a 3rd party software and tries to save, Metus MAM realizes the change and warns the user shown as below:

As soon as the asset icon has a READY sign on it, it means you are working on the local copy of the asset. You can 'Delete the local copy' to go back to working with the original archived asset.
