You can open/close the Search tab in Metus MAM desktop client by shortcut - F3 or from View/Search

In Search Bar, you have action buttons for Search Locations, Apply Filters, Full-text or Partial Match, Thesaurus search, Inflections, 'AND' or 'OR' logic, and also Load and Save (applicable for Advanced Search only)

Search Locations

You have the option to perform your search in the active project or all open projects in your MAM desktop client. Please see MAM Projects - 4.0.0.0 for more information on the project structure of Metus MAM.

You can select which Bins (and sub-folders/bins within them) to perform the search, or you can exclude bins  to narrow the search base.

 

Apply Filters

You have the option to specify the asset types you are looking for.

 Partial search  MAM will list every field that includes your keyword somehow.

For example, when you enter 'tra', it will list all fields including 'tra', such as 'trailer', 'traditional', 'transformation' etc.

 Full-text search  When operates in full-text mode, MAM looks for the exact word you type in the search fields. Related with SQL architecture, this generally takes slightly lesser time than partial search.

 

 Thesaurus On MAM will also look for the synonyms of the keywords you entered. The thesaurus database can be configured from SQL settings. Please contact Metus support for further help about configuring thesaurus in SQL.

For example, you can define thesaurus for 'author', 'writer', 'journalist' (search will result with all fields including any of the 3 words, when searched for any of the 3 words).

  Inflections On MAM will also look for inflections of the keywords  (from SQL database as thesaurus)

For example, you will enter 'pretty' as the search keyword and search will result with all fields including 'pretty', 'prettier', and 'prettiest'

 'OR' Logic  Advanced search will result in matches for any search criteria

 'AND' Logic  Advanced search will result in matches for all search criterias at the same time

 

Save and Load Search Profiles

You can save   your Advanced Search profiles and load  them anytime for rapid processing.
