Installing Metus INGEST

  1. Before installing Metus INGEST, please see Software Requirements and Hardware Requirements.
  2. It is recommended to install Metus Ingest on a Windows 11 or Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS.
  3. UAC (User Account Control) Settings on Windows should be set to "Never Notify" (restart needed). Please click HERE in order to see how to do this.
  4. Before installing Metus INGEST, please make sure that there is no older version of Metus INGEST installed. If there is, see below for upgrading Metus INGEST.
  5. The Metus INGEST.exe file has all necessary requirements that are needed. When you click Metus INGEST.exe, the setup will automatically start installing the requirements which are; 

    -  Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0
    -  C++ Runtimes
     
  6. Windows Media Format Runtime (Optional: For Windows XP. If you would like to capture wmv format)
  7. QuickTime (Optional: if you would like to capture in QuickTime format)
  8. Run Metus INGEST 5. x. x. exe setup and follow the instructions.
  9. After installing the requirements, setup will automatically install Metus INGEST. 

Upgrading Metus INGEST

Upgrade assumes that any previous version of Metus INGEST is already un-installed in your computer.

  1. Please remove the previous version of Metus INGEST using Add or Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Delete the installation folder of previous versions from “...\Program Files\Metus Technology\Metus Ingest”  folder
  3. Follow the instructions above for installing the new version of Metus INGEST.


Please Note:Since there may be version differences in the projects, we advise you to re-create the project and custom presets after installing new version. Opening old projects and old custom presets may cause some inconsistency.


Installing Metus INGEST Demo Version

  1. It is recommended to install Metus Ingest on a Windows 11 or Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS.

  3. Run Metus Ingest 5. x. x. exe setup and follow the instructions.
