Matrix (Router) Control - The Latest

Metus INGEST can control routers either manually or automatically by scheduled tasks.

As of now; Grass Valley, Jupiter, Kramer, Quartz, Pro-Bel and Blackmagic VideoHub switcher controls are supported. Please note that any other switcher can be controlled by INGEST after a short development period.

You can use Plugins Menu to reach switcher controls. A popup menu will open.

Note that, before first use of this feature, you should configure the settings. Click 'Edit' button to open settings window. 

Choose the proper sources and targets pins from the properties, give a name for ease of use. You can give an input/output count so that numbers of inputs/outputs can be controlled. Note that this is not recommended since it may lead to accidentally switch an input to a wrong output.

Therefore, it is recommended to use “only selected input” and “only selected output” options. By adding the only inputs/outputs which are needed, you shall avoid potential mistakes.

Connection settings must be configured according to your switcher specs.

You can save your current settings and load previously saved settings for switcher control. Simply use 'Save' and 'Load' buttons below the 'Matrix Properties' tab.

Important Note: It is strongly recommended to use password protection for switcher settings to prevent any user -without proper information- to change these settings by mistake. Please see Security Settings for detailed information to configure security.

After the settings are done, simply choose the desired source-target and click the 'Take' button to control your switcher through Metus INGEST.

You can also automate your switcher controls through Metus INGEST. INGEST can control your switcher according to your needs before start/after finish of any scheduled encoding task.
