Admins can set the rules for operations to be done while importing files into MAM database.

Where necessary, MAM will automatically create the storyboard and proxy for the asset, tag the asset with metadata templates, transcode the file according to the pre-settings defined here while importing.

Library Options  - GENERAL

You can either set MAM to create the proxy versions next to the original files or specify a target folder for the proxies.

Create Index will create indexes for archived assets, for frame matching. Please see Image Matching - 3.7.1.0 for more detail

Library Options - TRANSCODE

You can transcode all your assets to be imported into one single video profile for future purposes. As Metus MAM has a powerful transcoding engine in itself, the process will be done seamlessly while archiving. You can set transcode profiles for Image, Sequence, Video and Audio files.

You have the option to change the source file or create a new asset, or create a new asset and delete the source file.

If you need your assets to be transcoded to more than one video profile, you can use Batch Transcode feature. Please see Batch Transcode - 3.7.1.0 for more detail.

Library Options - METADATA

You have the option to also save file based metadata types to save into MAM database. These are grouped as Video, Audio, EXIF, IPTC, MP3 and Summary. You can see which fields are listed for each group by clicking on (question) at right.

NOTE We do NOT recommend this unless required by the workflow, because the database size increase is pretty significant when you save these metadata information

You can import metadata information from files automatically, while importing them to MAM database.

Library Options - ARCHIVE

As we mentioned previous page you can do archiving with Library with copy option. First you need to add Archive Unit to do archiving. ( Click here to see how to add an Archive Unit

After adding and Archive Unit you can select it to archive the assets for project , or you can select that Archive Unit only for specified bins too. This means you can use an Library project for archiving only for specified bins and at the same time , except that specified bins , it behaves like normal Library Project.

Only thing you need to do is checking the added Archive Unit as it shown at picture below for project.

Library with copy option for specified bins :

-You can set it by Right Click on the bin > Properties .

- And follow the steps at picture below.
