REQUIREMENTS


1- Metus MAM: Metus Media Asset Management Components running on the same network with your Mac. At least one Archive project should be created and shared on Metus MAM API.

2- Metus MAM Web Service (Metus Mac Server): Metus Mac Server Gateway Service which allows applications to run on Non-Windows platforms to communicate with Metus MAM. Metus Mac Server must be running on a Windows server within the same network.

3- Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard) or later.


INSTALLATION


Metus Mac Client (MMC) assumes that you already have installed Metus MAM on the same network.

INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING METUS MAM WEB SERVİCE - API


Metus MAM Web Service - API must be installed and running on a Windows server within the same network with your Mac to use Metus Mac Client.

  • Run the file with msi extension and complete the installation by following the instructions. By default, Metus MAM API is going to start listening port 8191 on the installed machine.  Service can be tested 

    by browsing to http://localhost:8191/MetusService address on any browser. This port address can be changed by modifying the configuration file (*.config) in the installed directory.

  • Set your Windows Firewall to allow access for the port which API is listening (Default 8191).

  • Open a web browser in your Mac which you will run MMC on, and enter http://[ip_of_WebService]:8191/MetusService into the address bar . For example : http://192.168.20.71:8191/MetusService . If you 

    see the page titled “MetusService Service” this means your mac can connect to Metus MAM Web Service successfully.


Making a project visible to the Web Service


In order to use Metus Mac Client to reach the content of a Metus Project, the project must be shared on the web service. Project files (*.map or *mlp) of the projects that is going to be published by Web

Service should be placed under App_Data/SharedProjects subfolder under your Metus MAM Web Service installation directory. Web Service must be restarted when a new project is added to this folder.


I - Copy the project file(s) (.map or .mlp files) under your Metus MAM Web Service installation directory, App_Data/SharedProjects folder.


II - Restart the web service. To do so, right-click “My Computer” and choose “Manage”. Then choose “Services” from the computer management panel. Find Metus MAM Web Service from the list and choose “Restart”.


Please note that Metus MAM API requires dongle key (license). Contact your vendor for Metus MAM API license.


INSTALLING METUS MAC CLIENT


Open Application Folder from the finder Go->Applications. Copy your Metus Mac Client application file (single file) to Applications folder on your Mac. Please note that on windows platform it seems a folder

named “Metus Mac Client.app”. On Mac platform it is a single aplication file.



 

Installation finishes if you copy it to Applications folder.

To uninstall Metus Mac Client, simply delete this file from the applications folder.
