Ingest Control Agent Settings
You can open the Settings Window by clicking Settings button which is at the left side on the bottom of Control Agent window.
System Check
System performance is a critical factor while running Ingest application, therefore you can set the system performance options in order to control CPU usage, RAM usage and disk spaces.
Check system performance:If you enable this option , it activates all setup.
Check CPU usage activates Refresh interval, Enable warning and alarm.
Refresh interval:It adjusts CPU refresh interval by setting in milliseconds (ms). You can set Enable warning and Enable alarm if CPU usage exceeds to a percentage value. In the figure below, if CPU usage is 80% then a warning is triggered. If CPU usage is 95% then an alarm is triggered.
Check RAM usage:It activates Refresh interval, Enable warning and alarm. You can adjust RAM refresh interval by setting Refresh interval in milliseconds (ms). You can set Enable warning and Enable alarm if RAM usage exceeds to a percentage value. In the figure below, if RAM usage is 80% then a warning is triggered. If RAM usage is 95% then an alarm is triggered.
Check used disk space:It activates Refresh interval, Enable warning and alarm. You can adjust used disk space, refresh interval by setting Refresh interval in milliseconds (ms). You can set Enable warning and Enable alarm if used disk space usage exceeds to a percentage value. In the figure above, if used disk space usage is 80% then a warning is triggered. If used disk space usage is 95% then an alarm is triggered. You can check any disk or all the disks by checking appropriate checkboxes.
Ingest Application
After you run Metus Ingest Control Agent, you can automatically start Metus Ingest by clicking Run button on the Control Agent main window. Ingest Application Settings provides the options for Metus Ingest and the project files.
Check interval is the time interval that the Control Agent watches for the actions of the Metus Ingest. The minimum check interval is one second.
Ingest application file path:The name of the application file and its path should exist on here. You can browse for the Ingest application file, if it doesn’t exist on the textbox.
Auto run Ingest if it closes and Restart Ingest if it is not responsive, both of these checkboxes are self descriptive. You can wait for a certain time before restarting Ingest application.
Automatically load project after starting the Ingest:In Metus Ingest application, you can save the defined sources and profiles in a project file. This project file can automatically be loaded after starting the Metus Ingest by setting this option and browsing Project file path.
Start all encoders after starting the Ingest:You can automatically start all encoders at the time of starting Ingest by checking this option.
Encoders & Profiles
The Control Agent checks file sizes, the consistencies between encoders and profiles and also frame buffer usage in order to detect the errors occurred in Metus Ingest application.
The file size should be getting bigger and bigger during recording in Ingest application. If in any case the file size does not change, it means that the encoder is blasted. Therefore you should check the time threshold that the file size does not change.
Check file size while encoding activates the options related to the file size.
No file size change threshold:In the figure above, if the file size does not change in 10 sec. , then the profile is restarted with Restrart profile if file is not changing section.
During recording, there can be some inconsistency problems occurred between the encoder and the profiles. It seems that the encoder and the profiles work fine, but actually one or more defined profiles can not run normally, so the user suppose that the recording done by Ingest seems ok.
Check the state of encoders and profiles for inconsistency:By activating this option in the figure above, if the inconsistent state lasts 10 sec., then the Ingest restarts the encoder.
Check frame buffer usage:The frame buffers keep unenclosed video frames. If the number of frames exceed to a certain value, the Control Agent can automatically inform the user via alarms. This option activates the options related to frame buffer usage. In the figure above, if the number of frame buffers is 5, then the Content Agent closes the Ingest on buffer alarm.
Final File Control
Some files may become corrupted because of compression techniques or audio source problems. One of the features of the Control Agent is to check the file with the options given below. The description of the corrupted file is sent to the user via email and also saved as logs.
Enable final file control:It activates all control options.
Check file duration:It controls the file duration.
Check file frame rate:If the file is corrupted, its frame rate will be zero, so you must check this section to check frame rate.
Check video / audio stream count:If the file is both video and audio, then you can enable both of this options. If the file is audio only or video only, then only its related stream count should be enabled. The stream count for the corrupted file is zero.
Treat check errors as:If the file is corrupted with the result of the file control, the error can be treated as warning, info and alarm by setting this option.
You can inform any user by sending all type of logs via email. To set this option, you should provide the email address and password of the sender.
Enable e-mail:It activates all the options about e-mail settings.
By checking the appropriate option just below the Enable e-mail checkbox , you can send any kind of logs via email. These type of logs are info logs, warning logs, errors and alarms.

Retry failed emails:Because of the network problems, sometimes e-mails may be failed. If you enable this option, you activate the options related with the failed e-mails.
Cash size:It enables the maximum number of failed e-mails kept on the mail server. If the number of the failed e-mails exceeds the cash size, then the failed e-mails are deleted from the mail server starting from the oldest mail.
E-mail expire time:It provides the latest time the mail is retried, after the expiration time the failed mail kept at the cash of the mail server.
Retry Interval:It sets the time interval to the failed mail then the failed mail is retried to send.
Server is the name of the mail server.
Port No is the port the mail server uses to send the mails.
Use SSL:Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol is activated by checking this option.
User is the mail address of the sender.
Password is the password of the sender.
To is the mail address of the user that the logs are sent.
After you completed this options , you could send Test E-mail to check your settings.
Sound Alert
Enable sound alarms:If you check this option, all options about Sound Alert are activated. You can enable alerts in case of any warning, error and alarm.

Log
Enable text log:If you check Enable text log option, all actions are saved as logs in Logs subfolder of the application folder. This option enables the user to trace all logs. You can adjust the number of the logs on Log tab with Max items on the list option. At the figure below , the last 100 logs are listed. You can also keep all type of logs (Info, Alarm, Warning, and Error) as a text file.
Remote Connection
Remote Connection option is used for controlling Metus Ingest Control Agent from command prompt or from other external third party software.
Allow remote connections option is used to enable/disable this feature.
Port No is the port where remote users will use for connecting to Metus Ingest Control Agent
Password option is used to ask for password when external application wants to connect to Metus Ingest Control Agent.
Note:This option will only take effect when you restart the application.
Language
In this window, you can set the language option (English and Turkish) for this application. If you change the language, it will only take effect when you restart the application.
Hide Option
If you click this button, you minimize the Metus Ingest Control Agent to System Tray.
If you don’t hide the application, it is automatically minimized to System Tray after a certain time.
