Main Window

The main window is divided to three frames. The upper frames are the frame related to Metus Ingest connection and the frame related to the system performance. The lower frame contains Logs and Alarms.

The Upper Window Frame

When you click the Run button, the Metus Ingest is automatically started, as seen on the figure shown below. The state of Ingest:changes from Not Running to Running. The state of Connection:also changes from Disconnected to Connected.

Remote Connections is enabled by default from Settings => Remote Connection.

If a “Remote connections” option is enabled, then Metus Ingest Control Agent (which means Metus Ingest itself) can be controlled and monitored from Remote (from Metus Control Center).

In case when the encoder blasted, the Ingest can become blocked, so that you should click the Kill button to stop the Ingest application immediately. Click to “Yes” button on the Warning to close the Ingest.

On the upper right side of the window, you see the general system performance of the computer that the Metus Ingest and the Control Agent run. In case when the encoder become blasted, some of the system performance values increase enormously. To detect this problem, you should watch system performance of the computer that Metus Ingest runs.

The figure below shows the System Performance Settings from Settings => System Check, If you enable all of them, then you can check the performance of CPU and RAM and see the usage of disk drives from the main window of Control Agent.

The Lower Window Frame

There are two tabs, Log and Alarms, on the lower side of the Control Agent window. The Log tab keeps the track of all logs (Info, Alarm, Warning, Error). You can set the maximum number of logs on the list from Settings => Log.

To warn the users in case of any error, the sound alarm should be used for the Control Agent. The Alarms Tab keeps the track of alarms. On the figure shown above, you see an alarm because of the high CPU usage. We set the Enable alarm option from System Performance Settings if the CPU usage is 80%. As you see, the CPU usage is 92% on the upper right side of the window and therefore an alarms appear on the Alarms list.

The frame just above Remote Connections Enabled option shows the encoders and its profiles that already defined by Metus Ingest. As you see an encoder (Encoder 2) and a profiles defined and running by Metus Ingest.
