General

Metus Ingest Control Agent is a tool which controls Metus Ingest and informs the errors and critical actions to users via email and sound alerts. This tool also keeps track of actions from Metus Ingest as logs to text file if you enable text log from Settings. This control agent is a kind of watch dog for Metus Ingest and can also restart the Ingest application as necessary. In case of any problem, the control agent restarts the encoder or reloads the Metus Ingest project.  

According to the settings, The Control Agent can restart the Ingest, encoder and one or more profiles. The Agent can check the problematic settings of the Ingest and set the warnings and the alert thresholds for these situations. Please refer to Settings => Encoder & Profile Settings in the Control Agent.

The Control Agent is directly connected to Metus Ingest application. The actions (running and stopping the Ingest) are done via the Control Agent. Please refer to Settings => Ingest Application Settings in the Control Agent.
