The physical file in the archive is deleted only when it is deleted from the Recycle Bin.
If you select an item from Recycle Bin and right click on it you will see some options as it shown below.
Export List : Exports the list of Selected Item / Current Page / All .

Delete Forever : If you want to delete items ( Assets / Playlists / Bins / Templates / Playout Servers , etc. ) from Recycle Bin, you need to use this option , it will ask you two warning questions as it shown below.
